Black Forest Racing is still located at 6480 Denver Industrial Park Road. John's business focuses on air-cooled cars. He loves doing engine and transmission work and is the only Porsche Factory-trained mechanic in Denver, NC.

Original Rally Car Our Replica Car
The rusty 914 shell arrived from Europe in February 2011 and the completed work of art returned to Italy in July 2011. The car is an exact replica of the 1971 winning car at Monte Carlo, which was driven by Bjord Waldegard. The car continued to win rally races before it was retired and restored. Today it lives in the Porsche museum in Germany.
Our customer obtained permission from the factory and FIA to create a replica and race in today's rallies. Black Forest Racing (BFR) was commissioned to do the job and using the rules and regulations that came with the chassis (written in Italian!!) and pictures of the original car, we began. Early November in Virginia was crisp and awesome. Here are some shots of our crew. We ran a white RSR and a black 914-6 GT. Did not set any track records, but both drivers improved their times every day.
